There are a number of public libraries under the Reading Borough Council and Wokingham Borough Council. See the addresses and opening times of the libraries in the useful links provided below.
You must join the library in order to visit the libraries, to borrow books and other resources from the library, to access public computers and to enjoy any other library services. You can either join in-person at any branch of the library or join online. It requires the proof of your name and current address. Membership is free. You can join Reading libraries and Wokingham libraries if you live, work or study in Reading borough and Wokingham borough.

What sort of proof is needed to join the library?
You will need two proofs, one showing your signature and one showing your current address. Acceptable proofs include: driving licence; recent bank statement (no more than two months old); Council Tax bill; tenancy agreement; recent utility, telephone or credit card bill (no more than two months old); credit card; bank card; store card; passport
